Enter this Writing Contest: Tell Your Ghost Story!

by Bryan

Everyone has a ghost story, something unexplained that happened to them. Maybe you saw something, heard something, or, even, dare I say it, felt something unexplained.

It could have happened when you were a small child, perhaps when you slept over with a friend when you were in your teens, or maybe in your first apartment when you finally went out into the world on your own? Maybe you had a haunted forest you explored behind your house? Or maybe you saw someone after they passed?

I don’t know what your story is… but I want to know and I am sure others do too. If you’d like to share YOUR ghost story, I’ve set up this spooky writing contest where you can share it and enter it for prizes! Keep reading to find out how to enter.

The Contest:

This contest is very easy to enter, simply write your ghost story in a blog post on your personal blog and link it back to this contest, if you do not have a personal blog it’s easy to write a blog post on WordPress, Blogger, or Medium instead. (This may prove to be your prompt to get your blog started.)

It is your ghost story. Tell it as you see fit, but do keep in mind that it will be judged on how realistic and well your feelings about it are conveyed. Did the experience terrify you, make you curious, or give you nightmares ever since? Convey this to your readers. Make us worry about turning out the lights at night and what could be lurking under the bed…

With that said both non-fiction and fictional stories are allowed. Add, “based on a true story,” if it is.

The prizes are:

1st Prize:

->) $125.00 Amazon gift card,  a Fire 7 tablet, 7″ display, 16 GB, latest model & a signed copy of Paranormal Evidence from Inside the Haunted Forest.

2nd Prize:

->) $75.00 Amazon gift card

3rd Prize:

->) $50.00 Amazon gift card

All winning stories will be republished on this blog and shared with my subscribers, which is great exposure for you!

How to enter the contest:

Please read the 4 steps below carefully so you enter correctly and your story counts!

  1. Post your short story between 300 to 2000 words on your blog. (You need a blog. If you don’t have one yet, it’s easy to start one on WordPress, or even easier, on Medium.)
  2. Starts now, Sep 10, until the cut-off date to enter is 30 Jan 2022! (CANCELED)
  3. Lead into your post with: “I am participating in the Writing Contest: Tell Your Ghost Story!”  You can phrase it as you like, but make sure there is a live direct link (like this) back to this contest post to qualify. You might have a great story, but if you haven’t linked back to this contest it won’t count, so please don’t forget.
  4.  Paste the link to your entry in the comments on the Facebook post to this contest, linked here. This is VERY important because your link to your ghost story in the FB comments is your official entry.

Subscribe to this blog and follow on Facebook, it’s very easy to do in the sidebar. One of the perks of subscribing and following my page on Facebook is being able to enter contests and other events. It’s free to enter the contest, but only subscribers can win.

The winners (and runner-ups) will be announced via a blog post here on Bryan’s Paranormal Travel Blog and this is another reason why subscribing is so important.

Most bloggers are looking for a fresh topic to write about, so here you go, you just so happen to be able to enter it into a fun contest, too.

Now go, write that winning post that will frighten readers for years to come.

If you have any questions, please ask via the comments section on FB here.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, this contest has been canceled.

By the way, that shadow figure in the photo above is exactly what a shadow figure Wee-Jee looks like. I saw it as clear as day when I was a child and I’ll never forget it!
